St. Olavsleden begins in Selånger, just outside Sundsvall in Sweden, and ends at Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, Norway. It follows the route taken by King Olav Haraldsson when he returned from Novgorod in Russia in the summer of 1030, seeking to reclaim the Norwegian throne and continue the Christianisation of the country.
The 564 km pilgrimage route stretches from coast to coast, across two countries, in the footsteps of Saint Olav.
